My name is Amy Anaiz. but those closest to me call me Aimes. I am currently living in New York City and have been photographing for as long as I can remember. It is truly my biggest passion! I enjoy the connection I get to experience when I am behind the lens. I have a casual, spontaneous, anything goes approach. To me its not about “taking a picture” but capturing a moment and like to say photographs are my interpretation of the truth. I hope to get to know you better and capture your moments!

I realized that I have never officially blogged about my little one…
Almost 3 years ago I adopted the cutest little Yorkie from one of my linesisters. She explained to me that her schedule didn’t permit her to give Pearly the time she deserved and that she thought I would be a better mommy. And that is how I became a mom I have to say Pearls and I are meant to be.. She is really the dog version of me!! I always questioned how that was possible. She’s needy, playful, quiet, happy, inquisitive, shy, alert, hates the outdoors, and loves to cuddle.hehe. — THATS ME! She’s the pea to my pod and the apple of my eye.
When I decided to move to NYC a year ago I was faced with the tough decision to leave her back in Florida with my parents. Since I was in a ‘transitional’ stage in my life I felt it was unfair to move her not knowing where the wind was going to blow me.I felt that it was unfair to bring her to NY where she would be cramped in a small apartment and alone for most of the day since I work. Leaving her in Florida meant she would have huge house she could run a muck in and constant attention, plus my parents and sister adore her. She makes my visits home all the more special and everytime I have to say goodbye my heart hurts. Yet, I have to remember that for right now this is the best home for her. ::sigh::
Hopefully soon I’ll be able to bring her with me.. until then I am thankful her ‘grandparents’ take great care of her. (Shout out to my Mommy!!)
My feelings towards JetBlue are very similar to my love towards Publix (thats another post).
Most of the times I grunt all the way to the airport, upon boarding, and through the fight when I have to fly with “the other guys”. But today, despite the possible blizzard warning, I am smiling. JetBlue you make me happy! JetBlue even responds to me on Twitter… (SHOUT OUT TO Whomever TWEETS for JetBlue.) Now that’s customer service!
Nehoo.. So I’ve posted via pictures some of the reason why I love thee…
Happy Jetting to all you Jet setters today! For those of you in the Mid/North East hope you plans aren’t delayed.
Being that I am the only lefty in my family that I know of I never had anyone to relate to. Growing up simple things like writing in a “right-handed” desks, cutting with “right handed” scissors, or trying to skip on my “skip it” in the right direction were hard for me to conquer! The counter on my skip it always went backwards
So growing up lefty was a little hard. Despite that I appreciate the fact that I’m one of few and that being a “lefty” has it’s special perks. In lieu of this I thought I’d enlighten my fellow readers (YOU) about some left-handed facts
Most left-handers draw figures facing to the right.
There is a high tendency in twins for one to be left-handed
Stuttering and dyslexia occur more often in left-handers.
Left-handers day is August 13th
10% of the human population is left handed.
Left-handers adjust more readily to seeing underwater.
One of the few cameras ever produced for left-handers was the half-frame Yashica Samurai. Cameras predominantly have the hand grip, shutter release, film wind lever and commonly used selection buttons, switches and dials controlled by the right hand.
Left-handers excel particularly in tennis, baseball, swimming and fencing
Left-handers have trouble manipulating items that are made for right-handed use, such as can openers or scissors, but they actually manage better than right-handed people who attempt to use similar items made for left-handed people.
Left-handers usually reach puberty 4 to 5 months after right-handers
4 of the 5 original designers of the Macintosh computer were left-handed
1 in 4 Apollo astronauts were left-handed – 250% more than the normal level.
Left-handers are generally more intelligent, better looking, imaginative and multi-talented than right handers – based on discussions among members of the Left-Handers Club!
But HEY rightys!!! You might be more “left-handed” then you think… Click and see!!
I have known Erika for years due to the fact that I went to school with her younger sister Giselle. I have seen Laila + Jah grow up ever so quickly. They are a fun little bunch and I was super excited to finally photograph them! We chose to use Erika’s parents (Pam + Javier) backyard as our background. Javier has worked hard to keep his landscaping in tiptop shape so what better opportunity to showcase the fruits of his labor.
Little Jah was a little camera shy at first. I don’t think he understood why all the attention was on him and why everyone was shouting his name.. LOL!
Many times people expect lil ones to be smiling for pictures but I LOVE when they just are who they are. I totally love this serious one
We got out the ball and bat and Jah did not disappoint. Do I spy a little Alex Rodriguez in the making?
A family that plays together.. stays together…
And here’s the whole family
I lovvveeeee this one
…yes hes a mommas boy
We took advantage and got some “engagement” shots of Erika and Jay.. Look out for their wedding post later this year!!
Another FAVEE!!!! You girls are fabulous!
Jah was finally warming up.. here come the smiles!!!
This smile was totally worth the wait! MY *FAVE*
Of course I had to get a shot of the whole gang!

One of my favorite people was in town this week! None other the Chris
He was in town accompanying his client Kriyss Grant for a performance on Bet’s 106 & Park.
“Before reaching the age of 21 Chris “Kriyss” Grant achieved goals that some would never dare to dream. Chosen by the most prominent female performer of our times, Beyoncé Knowles, Kriyss was appointed as Assistant Choreographer for her riveting I AM…SASHA FIERCE Tour. Kriyss’s ultimate dreams were realized when he was chosen by the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, to perform on his “This Is It” tour. Kriyss has also worked with artists such as Rich Girl, Montana Tucker, and PA. Kriyss has amazed American television viewers world-wide with his talent and choreography on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew. He also captivated millions of viewers with his singing and dancing abilities, as well as his humble spirit, on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, MTV’s Making the Band 4, and BET’s 106 and Park.”
Rehearsals were held at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and I was excited to see the behind the scenes of the performance. Kriyss was extremely professional and humble. There is no doubt that he’s a rising star!!
